Junior Rodeo, Ranch Rodeo & Rodeo - 3 great ways to "Stirrup Some Fun!"
Due to Vesicular Stomatitis (VS) being confirmed in Delta County, across Colorado and surrounding states, the Colorado State Veterinarian's Office and Delta County Fair Board have implemented the following procedure for the 2019 Delta County Fair. Delta County Fair will strictly be enforcing this policy in order to protect all livestock at the Fair.
JUNIOR RODEO (SATURDAY, AUGUST 3rd) , 4-H HORSE SHOW (SUNDAY, AUGUST 4th/MONDAY, AUGUST 5th) :
Contestants in these events must have a HEALTH CERFTIFICATE ISSUED BY A VET WITHIN THREE DAYS OF THE EVENT. All trailers should enter via the Doc Maloney entrance and stop at the checkpoint where you will present the certificate to fair staff and be checked in before you will be allowed to unload. Animals deemed to be symptomatic of VS will be sent home and the State Vet's Office will be notified.
HEALTH CERTIFICATES ISSUED BY YOUR VET MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT:
“I have examined the animal(s) represented on this certificate of veterinary inspection and have found no clinical signs of vesicular stomatitis and they have not originated from a premises under quarantine for vesicular stomatitis.”

TEAM ROPING SADDLE SHOOT OUT (MONDAY), RANCH RODEO (THURSDAY) & FLOWER MOTOR COMPANY RODEO (FRIDAY) CONTESTANTS:
Once you arrive, a vet will be on-site to check your horses for signs/symptoms of VS.
Vet checks will begin at:
- 5:00 pm on Monday
-5:00 pm on Thursday; and
- 2:00 pm on Friday.
DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE THIS TIME AS ENTRY WILL BE DENIED UNTIL A VET CHECK IS PERFORMED.
All horse trailers must enter via Doc Maloney Way off Hwy 92. This entrance will be turned into a two lane entrance on these nights to accomodate horse trailers. Please follow signs and proceed to the Vet Check station by the Maloney house upon arrival.
Horses being ridden into the fairgrounds must have a certificate or stop at the vet check station and be checked in. Attempts to circumvent vet check requirements put the entire fair at risk of quarantine and guidelines wil be enforced.
Thank you for your cooperation and assistance as we work through the VS Standards implemented by the State's Vet Office.
