The Delta County Fair Book is the official guide to the Delta County Fair & Rodeo. Published by the High Country Shopper in Paonia,  4,000 copies are distributed across Delta County and Montrose starting in June of each year.  The Fair Book serves as the general public and exhibitor's guide to the Delta County Fair.

Please note that rules were consolidated/re-organized in 2018 to save space in the Fair Book and make rules easier to find. Please be sure you review all the rules, especially those for your division(s)!

4-H/FFA ENTRY INFORMATION

Project Pre-Entry

ALL 4-H/FFA Exhibitors and Open Class Livestock Exhibitors - MUST pre-enter your projects otherwise you will not be allowed to exhibit at the 2018 Delta County Fair. If you have questions about pre-entry requirements, refer to the Delta County Fair Book or contact the Delta County CSU Extension Office.

PRE-ENTRY DEADLINE IS JULY 6, 2018 AT 4:30 PM. ENTRIES NOT RECEIVED BY THIS DATE/TIME WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO EXHIBIT AT THE 2018 DELTA COUNTY FAIR!

Livestock Sale Buyer Invitation Form

All 4-H and FFA Members exhibiting Market Livestock projects at the Delta County Fair:

The Junior Market Livestock Sale Committee voted in 2016 to require ALL 4-H and FFA Members selling an animal/cheese at the Delta County Fair Junior Market Livestock Sale to complete a form showing you have invited two (2) buyers to the Sale.

Failure to complete the form and return it with your pre-entries with signatures from two individuals/businesses will result in the Sale Committee taking $25 per invitation not completed, up to $50 from your sale check!

Round Robin Showmanship Contest | Friday, August 10th @ 5:00 pm - Show Ring
The Round Robin is the premier showmanship contest of the Delta County Fair and is comprised of the First Place Showpersons in the Senior, Intermediate and Junior classes of Market Beef, Sheep, Swine, Goat as well as Dairy and Horse. These champion showpersons are automatically entered in the Round Robin Contest to determine a Grand Champion Showman in each age group.

Pee Wee Showmanship Contest
On Friday, August 10th at 3:00 pm in the Events center, we will host the Pee Wee Showmanship Contest. This Exhibition is open to all 4-H and non 4-H Members between the ages of 5 and 7. All animals exhibited must be born in 2017. Lambs, calves and goat kids must be halter broke. All animals must be checked in at the Livestock Office no later than 2:00 pm on the day of the show. No Overnight accomodations are available for open class exhibitors. Pre-Entry is due by 4:30 pm on July 6, 2018.

HERITAGE HALL/OPEN CLASS

The Delta County Fair has the following Open Class non-livestock divisions which are open to any resident of Delta County.  Projects are exhibited in Heritage Hall, our exhibit hall at the Delta County Fairgrounds.  Each exhibitor who enters a project at the County fair earns points for their community. 

HORTICULTURE

Entries in Heritage Hall take place on Tuesday, August 7th from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.  Make sure you are aware of the entry requirements and restrictions in your division/class prior to arriving with your project(s). 

Open Class Livestock Exhibitors - You MUST pre-enter your project(s) at the CSU Extension Office by July 6, 2018 at 4:30 PM to show livestock at the 2018 Delta County Fair. For more information review the Livestock Rules or contact the Extension Office.  Pre-entry forms will be uploaded as soon as the Extension Office has them available. 

Heritage Hall Open Class Entry Forms and will be available in May for Download. 

Complete Heritage Hall rules/regulations and classes are outlined in the annual edition of the Delta County Fair Book.  To view the current rules, click on the Fair Book at the top of this page.  There have been no rule changes for divisions in Heritage Hall for 2018, so the class numbers and regulations in the 2017 Fair Book apply to 2018.

  • Available only to 4-H/FFA Members and their families. 
  • REQUIRED for any family CAMPING on the grounds during fair.  EACH person camping MUST purchase a wristband.
  • Gets you FREE access to ALL events!
  • Includes camping pass!  Camping passes must be purchased online by August 4th.
